Etta was born April 15, 1926, in Crawford County to Marion and Ada (Jones) Ward. She graduated from Boscobel High School in 1944. Etta worked at Oscar Meyer and Madison Gas and Electric Company for many years. Etta moved to Arizona in 1970. She retired from the State of Arizona after working for the Department of Administration in 1986. After retirement, Etta volunteered her time at a local Phoenix hospital. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, sewing, baking and completing crossword puzzles. Etta enjoyed watching all sporting events, especially those played by her grandchildren. She was their greatest cheerleader.
Etta is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; her parents; three brothers, Keith, Floyd and Forrest; and sister, Sidonna (Oman).
Etta leaves behind daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Thomas Tiedt; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Bobby Ford; grandchildren, Vicki (Jensen), Brandon, Rhiannon, and Dillon Ford; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Aaron, Sofia, Esteban and Aislyn; two brothers, Julius (Joyce) Ward and Dean (Carla) Ward; and sister, Laura (Richard) Daugherty, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Etta was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a special person who loved her family and friends with all her heart. We will all miss her and cherish her memory forever.
