William N. "Billy" Stafford, 86, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Stanford. Born July 26, 1929 in Mount Olive, KY to the late Clarence and Emma Durham Stafford, he was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War, and was a farmer for all of his life. He was also a member of Mount Olive Christian Church.Survivors include his wife of 62 years; Fern Floyd Stafford of Stanford, KY, one sister; Margaret Hodges of Terrace Park, OH, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Kenneth and Charles Stafford, and three sisters; Alene Bastin, Maxine Floyd, and Helen Carman. Services have been scheduled for Monday, November 30, 2015 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm and funeral service will begin at 1pm with Reverend Gary King officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Casket bearers are: Larry Brown, Ronald Sims, Steve Floyd, David Stafford, Randall Stafford, and Kerby Carman.
