Marcia Ann Knapp, 77, of Lower Burrell, formerly of New Kensington, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at the Willows in Oakmont. She was born Feb. 7, 1938, in Arnold, to the late Leon and Gladys Moxon Simon, and was a 1956 graduate of Ken-Hi. Mrs. Knapp worked at Jen-Sport from 1983 until 1997, and enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She is the mother of Gerald L. (Diane) Knapp Jr., of Lower Burrell, Timothy M. (Kelly) Knapp, of Allegheny Township, Terry T. (Sherry) Knapp, of New Kensington, Marcia L. (Peter F. Jr.) Dombroski, of Upper Burrell Township, and Ronald L. (Rebecca) Knapp, of New Kensington; the grandmother of Jennifer, Kelsey, Jeremy, Lauren, Lacie, Jacob, Justin, Holly and Ronald Knapp and Jessica Dombroski; the sister of Leon Ronald (Mildred) Simon, of Raleigh, N.C., and Clifford H. "Fuzzy" (Patricia) Simon, of Upper Burrell Township; and great-grandmother of Holden and Eleanor Rioja.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Knapp Sr., on June 5, 2000.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held at noon Saturday. The Rev. Thomas E. Dougal will officiate. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Borough.
