William "Sonny" Carroll Acors, 74, of Ottoman, Virginia passed away on November 23, 2015. He was born on December 13, 1940, son of the late Abbie Acors and Annie Mae Mitchell Acors.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann B. Acors; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl A. Cubbage and husband, Keith of Irvington and Anitra A. Mackey and husband, Frank of Millenbeck; sister, Dorothy Thomas of Kilmarnock and a brother Leonard "Jack" Acors and wife, Kathy of White Stone.

Sonny was a member of Corrottoman Baptist Church. He was a sergeant in the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam.

He worked as a meat cutter for 42 years, working at Norris Supermarket and A and P and he worked for Tri-Star for 29 years until he retired in 2004.

He enjoyed reading and gardening and being with his loving and devoted family.

Family will receive friends 6:00 p. m. to 7:30 p. m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m. Friday, November 27 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Corrottoman Baptist Cemetery, Ottoman.
