Jazlyn LeeAnn Barnes, 18, of Marysville died unexpectedly Sunday evening from injuries received in an auto accident.

Jazlyn was a 2015 graduate of MHS and was currently enrolled at OSU Marion studying to be a special education teacher. During high school, she was enrolled at Ohio High Point in Teacher Profession which was preparing her towards her goal of being a special education teacher for K-3. She loved special needs children and wanted to dedicate her life to teaching them.

A free spirit person, she would light up a room with her presence. She enjoyed music and learned to play the guitar. A memorable experience for her, a few years ago, was giving an impromptu program with her guitar to the residents at Halcyon when she was still learning to play it. Jazlyn traveled to Spain, a trip she truly enjoyed. She was always fashion conscious but not a girlie girl. Christmas was her favorite holiday and was very special to her. She adored her family, and was especially happy to be an aunt.

Jazlyn was born April 9, 1997 in Sandusky, Ohio to Danny J. and Tina M. Hill Barnes. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Donald Barnes.

She is survived by her parents, Danny and Tina; sisters Maxxine Pittman of Marion and Carmen Montanez of Columbus; nephew Riley Shaw of Columbus; paternal grandparents Beverly A. Barnes and Charles Bridge of Marysville; maternal grandparents Connie L. Fields of Marion, William Sims and Karen Wilson of New York City; maternal great grandparents Martha Huff and Jessie Wylie, Georgia Mae Sims all of Marion; a host of aunts and uncles and many friends.

Calling hours will be held 6-8pm Friday at the Ingram Funeral Home, Marysville, where funeral services will be 11am Saturday. The Rev. Shane Bailey will officiate and burial will follow at Claibourne Cemetery, Richwood.

In the deceased's memory, contributions may be made to the Union County Care Train or the Union County Board of MRDD in care of the funeral home.
