Joseph was born in the Polish Corridor in Germany.He married Louise Larson (d. 1953) and had three children (all deceased) He was the owner of the Ellsworth Lumber Co. He was survived by an uncle Martin (d. 1965) a brother Albert and sister Frances.
Joe was killed in an automobile accident in icy conditions on the Ellsworth-East Jordan Rd.Their children were: Jean,Martha (Irene) and James (Buddy)
-Martha "Irene" died in Traverse City,MI May 25,2008 and believe was cremated.She had three children of which one daughter Michelle has passed.
-Buddy died in North Bend,WA Jan.13,2002 and is buried at Holyrood Cemetery in Washington.
-Jean died in Novi,MI on Jan.9,2015 and is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in East Jordan.
