Donald Ellis Hicken, age 89, of Roosevelt, passed away November 22, 2015, at his home. He was born August 4, 1926, in Tabiona, to Orson Nello and Lorene Ellis Hicken. He married Ada Lhea Holfeltz on June 6, 1955, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Donald earned a Bachelor of Science from BYU and then a Master of Social work from U of U. He worked as a social worker for the BIA. He loved his farm and his cows. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a great scriptorian with a strong testimony and a deep love of his Savior. Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lhea; children, Carolyn (Dave) Gremillion; Kerry (Kim) Hicken; Mark (Melinda) Hicken; Rodney (Gayla) Hicken; Roger (Cherie) Hicken; son-in-law, Michael (Kelli) Weldon; 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Golda) Hicken; sister, Betty (Howard) Gilbert; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hicken. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Weldon; brother, Gerald Hicken; sister, Effie Hicken, and his parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt East LDS Stake Center. There will be a viewing that morning at the church beginning at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Services under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
