Mary "Molly" Lockhart was the daughter of Julius Ceasar Lockhart (1819–1867) and Catherine Jane Murchison (1824–1906).

She married to Dempsey Cager Bussey on 28 Feb 1866 in Greenville, Butler County, Alabama. They had ten children:
