He was a popcorn vendor on the streets of Miami for many years, and was known as "Dad". He had been in ill health for about two years, and was persuaded to enter the Odd Fellows home in Safford. He was a member of the Bisbee lodge of I.O.O.F. He left the home and visited friends in Globe and Miami, then entered the Globe hospital. He was sitting about the hospital, became suddenly ill, and expired.
