Obituary for Carol Sauer Bryant
Carol Ann (Sauer) Bryant, of Mandeville, Louisiana, loving mother, wife and friend, passed on peacefully from this life on Sunday, November 22nd. Carol was born in Rochester, NY on January 4, 1940. She grew up in various places around the United States and graduated from High School in Tampa, FL. Carol attended Northern Illinois University where she met her husband, Bruce, to whom she was married to for 56 blessed years. She and Bruce lived in Illinois and West Des Moines, IA where they raised a family of six children. After they retired, they spent summers in Eagle River, Wisconsin. She was dedicated to her family and being the best mother possible. She was kind in ways that words cannot adequately describe, loving with a depth and compassion which touched all around her. She was a philanthropist, charity volunteer and board member at the Samaritan Center, driver for Meals on Wheels for more than a decade, and staunch defender of the less fortunate. She is survived by her devoted husband Bruce, her sister Mary Lou (Vernon) Henry of Houston, five children, Kathleen Powell of Houston, TX, Elena (Jeb) Ball of Des Moines, IA, Julie of Iowa City, Patrick (Laurie) of Minneapolis and John (Wendy) of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and dozens of close friends. She is preceded in death by her son Nathan and her parents, Jerome John and Vera Louise (Finley) Sauer of Buffalo, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Tuesday at 1:00 PM.
Interment will take place after Thanksgiving at the Eagle River Cemetery near the family's summer home in Eagle River, WI.
