Harold B. Thomas, 87, 510 Riverside Ave., died Friday at Ball Hospital. He was born in Wabash County and moved to Grant County with his parents, John and Hannah Hettler Thomas. He graduated from the business department of Marion Normal College.
Mr. Thomas lived on a farm in Grant County between Marion and LaFontaine 70 years prior to coming to Muncie in 1964. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Muncie; a fifty-year member of LaFontaine Lodge 295, F&AM; Scottish Rite, Valley of Ft. Wayne, and was a past patron of Eastern Star at LaFontaine.
Surviving are his wife, Iva Stevens Thomas; a sister, Mrs. Paul F. McClellan, Marion; his niece, and his nephew.
Services will be held in Meeks Mortuary at 2 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Laurence A. Martin, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum 10 a.m. Monday. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and any time prior to the services Sunday. Memorials may be sent to First United Presbyterian Church in Muncie or to The Masonic Home in Franklin.
