ALBANY, Ind.--Dr. Karl E. Puterbaugh, 88, died Monday in Parkview Nursing Home in Muncie.
He was a native of Darke County, Ohio. He practiced medicine in Albany for 52 years before retiring in 1978.
He and his wife, the former Imogene Minar, lived in Daleville a few years after his retirement.
Dr. Puterbaugh was a member of Anthony Lodge 171, F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne; American Medical Association, and Delaware-Blackford Medical Society.
He attended Taylor University in Upland and Ohio State University in Columbus before graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1926.
When he retired, a municipal park in Albany was named for him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Bette Jean Stewart and Sandra Jo Seay, both of Daleville; a stepson, Mike Minar, Albany; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Fry, Fremont, and Kathy Everetts, Hamilton; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Parson-Rust Funeral Home, with Revs. Joe Hines and Dean Christianson officiating. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum in Muncie. Calling hours at the funeral home are 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
