Wanda Annette (Ann) Massey Imes
Ann Imes lost her battle with breast cancer on Monday, November 9, 2015, at her home in Granbury. She had fought this battle for 18 months. God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and said, “Come with me.”
Ann was born to the late Raburn W. and Allene McElroy Massey, November 14, 1940 in Cleburne. She graduated from Joshua High School in 1959 and attended business school in Fort Worth. Ann worked as a secretary for Thomas Conveyor in Burleson and also worked at General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin). Ann married Jack Imes, February 4, 1961, in Victoria, Texas. Ann served her Lord as a Sunday school teacher of the Gleaner’s Class at Fairview Baptist Church of which she was a member for 30 years. She enjoyed reading and studying God’s word and sharing His message with others.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 48 years and 9 months, Jack Imes, and nephew, Kevin Henderson.
Ann is survived by: Son, Mark Imes of Granbury, son and daughter-in-law, Josh Imes and Samantha Godbey of West Virginia; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amanda and Logan Gray of Granbury; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tom Hood of Boyd; niece and husband, Tammie and Simon Warner of Boyd; great-nephews, Stephen Henderson, Braden Thomas and Simon Warner of Boyd and Drew Henderson-Boles of San Antonio; and sister in Christ, BFF and caregiver, Janet Gold.
Ann donated her body to medical science at UT Southwestern Medical Center of Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s memory to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, Weatherford, Second Chance Farm, Granbury, or charity of choice.
