Obituary, Contra Costa Times (Walnut Creek, CA), 2 Aug 2015:
Saint Paul, MN - M. Linda Eller
Born in Ames, Iowa to Walter Meads and Gladys H. Meads. She was a longtime resident of the Bay Area, first in San Mateo and then for many years at Rossmoor, in Walnut Creek. She was a woman of many passions and interests. An educator and educational consultant for many years, Linda was a proud graduate of Iowa State University and devoted to Stanford University, where she received her master's degree in a program designed for innovative educators. California was the home of her heart. Linda and her beloved husband, Clyde, traveled widely. They were hikers, birdwatchers and lovers of the world. They visited every National Park in the US. A devoted Unitarian Universalist, she put down roots in local congregations wherever she lived. She always looked for new challenges and opportunities, though being a grandmother was the greatest adventure of them all. She loved to dance until the very end. Predeceased by husband, Clyde, she leaves behind her children, David (Abby); Jim (Jeannie Himes); John (Margy); and Janne Eller-Isaacs (Rob). Grandchildren: Jonah, Jessie, Hannah, Ben, Matt, Dara, Shaun and Sam. Great grandchildren: Harrison and Lewis. Services will be held Tuesday, August 11 at 11:00 am at Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek, California.
