Mrs. Thetis Akins Campbell, age 87, died Saturday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker. Mrs. Campbell was a long time member of the Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Paul Campbell; her parents, Lawrence Mooney Akins and Clifford Cowart Akins and two brothers, Ewell Akins and Billy Akins.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Greg Howard and Jennifer and Ronny Newton all of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Jinci Evans and her husband Bryan, Chase Newton, Chan Newton and Paul Howard; two great grandchildren, Aubree Evans and Kasen Evans and two sisters-in-law, Carlene Akins and Annette Akins both of Statesboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive visitors on Monday from 10:00am until 11:00am at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow the visitation with Elder Jack Anderson officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Jeffrey Moore and Wesley Hendrix.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2953 Mallard Pond Road, Statesboro, Georgia 30461.
