James H. Burton, 75, of Greenfield died Jan. 6, 1999, at Hancock Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 3, 1923, in Connersville, he was the son of Howard Pryor and Florence Adams Burton.
Before retiring as a district manager for Hook's Drugs, he was a pharmacist for 25 years. He was a graduate of Butler University, a Navy veteran of World War II, past commandeer for American Legion Post #1 in Connersville, a member of the Hagerstown Masonic Lodge, and past Grand Chef De Gare of the 40 and 8.
Survivors include his wife , Nadeen (Daniels) Burton of Greenfield; sons Bill Burton of Indianapolis, Mark Burton of Richmond, Kenny Watkins of Knightstown and Earl Watkins of Springfield, Pa.; brother Richard M. Burton of St. Charles, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Pasco Memorial Mortuary in Greenfield. There will be no calling.
