Harvey L. Blitch, Sr. Retired Army Captain

Sylvania, GA. - Harvey Lanier Blitch Sr., 84, died Wedesday, Dec 20, 1989, at Screven County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church, near Sylvania, with the Revs. Stephen Johnson, Vernon Edenfield and Harold Jarnigan officiating. Burial with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Blitch, a native of Screven County, had retired from the Army as a Captain and was a member of Union Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He attended the First District A&M College (now Georgia Southern) and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1928. He had retired from the DuPont Co. at the Savannah River Plant in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Adona Knox Blitch, Oliver; and three sons, Harvey L. Blitch Jr., Stephen W. Blitch, and James P. Blitch, all of Clermont.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Union Baptist and Little Ogeechee Baptist churches.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
