Lynus E. Beemus
Lynus Beemus was born February 13, 1805 in Ohio. His parents were Samuel and Sarah Beemus. He married Martha Amelia Jewel February 25, 1827. Lynus arrived in the Salt Lake Valley between 1848-1858 Lynus died April 9, 1858 in Manti Utah.
Martha was a convet to the church, but her husband never did join. Shortly before his death, he expressed a desire to be baptized but died before it could be done.
When they came west, Lynus wanted to continue on to the gold fields but his wife wanted to stay in Manti, and he was never sorry he stayed. Martha remained as active member of the church and Lynus got along well with everyone. They built a good home and had the love and respect of their children and everyone in the community.
