Serenia Babbitt
Serenia Isabelle (Liz) Babbitt, 70, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in a Vernon nursing home following a lengthy illness. A memorial service Will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the First Assembly of God with the Rev. Brian Hughes, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Babbitt was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Sinton, Texas, a daughter of the late Tom Tucker and Ida Adell Crumley Bushong. She married C. B. Babbitt in September, 1963, in Vernon. He preceded her in death in March of 1970. She had been a resident of Vernon since 1963. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God of Vernon. Survivors include four daughters, Yvonne Nice and Danette Hall, both of Vernon, Jo Ann Barnes of Annandale, Va., and Lynda Williams of Orange, Texas; two sons, Paul Reeves of Annandale, Va. and Jerry Reeves of Rockwall, Texas; five sisters; three brothers; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one grandson and one great granddaughter. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will be at 3324 Yamparika. Memorials may be made to the SIDS Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
