Donald R. Rowland, 84, of Nederland, Texas, passed away November 14, 2015.

He was born May 25, 1931 to the late Clyde Rowland and Vera Leona Mason.

Donald proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Gulf Oil Port Arthur Refinery. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Nederland, where he faithfully served in many capacities.
Donald’s patient, peaceful nature, combined with skill, made him a good golfer. He was happy as pie on a golf course, with a thermos of coffee; especially if it was a “mighty fine day” outside. Like most angels, Donald or Pawpaw, as he was known by so many, also had wings and could fly. He earned his pilot license and even owned his own plane, for a time.

Donald is survived by wife Therese Rowland, of sixty years; son, Charles Rowland and wife Gay; daughter, Donna Concienne and husband Mark; daughter, Rhonda Aguillard and husband Kent; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Pickering and husband Alvin and Charlene Hecht and husband Bill.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Charles and Lawrence “Joe” Rowland; sister Peggy Bush and brother-in-law L.T. “Bob” Bush.
