WOMAN ILL FOR A LONG TIME, PRAYERS ANSWERED ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Funeral services for Mrs. W. E. Stanford, 57, of the Moody community, Fisher county, north of Sweetwater, who died Saturday night were held Sunday afternoon at the family home. Internment was made in the city cemetery.

Mrs. Stanford had been ill for several weeks and when she realized she could not recover she prayed that her death come on Saturday night and she be buried on Sunday. Her prayers were answered and her last desires were carried out on Sunday.

Mrs. Stanford was born in Cleveland, Tenn., on March 4, 1874 to Mr. Philmore G. Henry and Mrs. Sarah Ann Smith Henry. Thirty-one years ago she married Mr. W. E. Stanford. The couple had made their home in Fisher County for many years. When she was 12 years of age she joined the Methodist church and was an active member until 11 years ago when she became an invalid.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Miss Madge Stanford, head of the educational department McMurry College, Abilene, and Mrs. Henri Lee Neeper, Sweetwater; and one son J. T. Stanford, Dallas.

She is also survived by three sisters and one brother.

The Rev. J. E. Stephens, pastor of the Highland Heights Methodist church, officiated at the services held at home.

Pallbearers were Lloyd and Claud Rogers, R. C. Duncan, Frank Johnson, Fred Neeper and Archie Griffith.

Johnson Funeral Home undertakers were in charge at the cemetery.
