Sweetwater, July 7 - George P. Squires, 88, died at 1 p.m. Sunday at his home here after an illness of several months.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. James Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery with Patterson Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Squires, a retired farmer, was born Oct. 18, 1868 at Churchill, Tennessee and had lived in Sweetwater several years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Duffy of Sweetwater and R. Y. of Fort Worth; seven daughters, Mrs. Seburn Cline of Big Spring, Mrs. W. C. Cassaday, Mrs. J. C. Oliver and Mrs. L. D. Smith, all of Sweetwater, Mrs. Wade Gregory of Hamilton, Mrs. Lorene Blevens of Pilot Point, and Mrs. Lester Sellers of Pasco, Wash.; 50 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
