MRS. CARPENTER, FISHER NATIVE, DIES IN PLAINVIEW

Sweetwater - Mrs. Ella B. Carpenter, 79, a resident of Nolan and Fisher counties for most of her life, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview where she had lived since the death of her husband in 1950.

Born in Fisher County Oct. 25, 1885 [sic], she was the widow of the late R. N. Carpenter, Sr.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Methodist Church in Plainview. The body will be brought to the Cate-Spencer Funeral Home Chapel in Sweetwater to lie in state from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday preceding graveside rites in the Sweetwater Cemetery.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. D. W. Maner of Littlefield, Mrs. Elbert Shearer and Mrs. Jack James, both of Plainview, Mrs. H. W. Tresenrider of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Oma Miller of Dallas, Mrs. Jack Watkins of Houston and Mrs. Opal Carpenter of Little Rock, Ark.; four sons, Claude of Tempe, Ariz., A. B. of Plains, R. N. of Dimmitt, and Calvin of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Tula Humphries of Houston and Mrs. Opal Carpenter of Alhambra, Calif.; and two brothers, Austin Boyd of Abilene and Charles Boyd of Temple.
