Verdajean Chamberlain, 89, passed away at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home; raised in East Hickory, and Wellsboro, PA, settled in Bound Brook, NJ; at 16, ran away from home, falsified her birth certificate, and enlisted in the US Coast Guard at the beginning of World War II, stationed at one time Ellis Island, NJ, tending to wounded soldiers. Predeceased by parents Howard S. and Bernice B. Wilhelm Johnston. Survived by her husband Roland; children, Carol J. (Ted) Osvath, Mark D. (June) Chamberlain, Gary L. (Sandra) Chamberlain, Paul D. (Sarah) Chamberlain, James T. (Claire) Chamberlain, Jon R. Chamberlain and partner Patricia Reynolds, Laura Keita, William H. (Janice) Chamberlain; sister Bette J.
