Herbert M. "Joe" Sells, 86, passed away Nov. 15, 2015, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and his friends.
Herbert was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Livingston, Tenn., to Edward A. Sells and Vada A. W. Sells. He served his country proudly in the United States Army in Korea.
He retired a second time from Pay Less at the age of 82. He was a member of the Meadowbrook Church of Christ.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura U. Sells; son, Steve Sells, and two granddaughters.
He is also survived by two loving sisters, Jean Lynn and Judy (Ronnie) Thompson; and brother, Jack Sells, all from Livingston, Tenn., as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend of 45 years, Clyde House.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Kermit, Hank, Jim, Oscar, and Howard Sells.
Visitation with the family in Anderson will be on Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Home, 504 W. Ninth St., Anderson.
Visitation with the family in Tennessee will be at Speck's Funeral Home, 300 N. Church St., Livingston, Tenn., on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Zions Hill Cemetery in Rickman, Tenn.
