Leslie Wernli, 93, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Mr. Wernli was born October 29, 1922, in Pawnee to Samuel Erwin and Ida (Kiel) Wernli. He married Nancy Grace Hargreaves on March 19, 1945 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a farmer/rancher and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Grace Wernli of Three Rivers; three sons, Walter (Bess) Lesley Wernli of Live Oak county, Wayne Wernli of George West, and James Erwin (Susan) of Driftwood; four grandchildren, Andrea Harris, Melissa Reyna, Nikki Wernli, and Matthew Wernli; five great-grandchildren, Clinton Harris, Amber Harris, Autumn Harris, Colton Brown, and Trinity Reyna; and three great-great-grandchildren, Jackson James Wernli, Winter Grace Jane Wernli, and Braden Charles Harris. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers with a prayer service that evening at 7 o’clock.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Three Rivers with Reverend Norman Sulaica, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pawnee Cemetery in Pawnee, Texas

Pallbearers will be Norman Kuenstler, Freddy Franke, Lupe Rocha, John Bello, and Gerald Teague, and Eldon Lieke.
