Mr. Torrey retired from Mueller Brass Company after over 40 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. He enjoyed hunting especially deer hunting and was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan.
He is survived by four children, Bonilyn (James) Hardy, Susan (Michael) Deraedt, Tracey (Cameron) Weir and Brian (Deborah) Torrey; two step children, Gary Lee (Jan) Walker and Judy (William) Smith; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Cody Hardy, Michael (Amber) Deraedt, Travis (Courtney) Deraedt, Austin and Taylor Weir and Nicole (Jake) Hutchinson; four great grandchildren, Kyle Gill, Elliott Hutchinson, McKennah and Cole Deraedt; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; his brother, Danny Torrey and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
