Lena Terry Russell, 93, of Wadesboro, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, in Anson Community Hospital.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today in Anson Memorial Park with The Rev. Jimmie Furr and The Rev. Tony Allen officiating. The family will greet friends at Leavitt Funeral Home from 1 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.
Born Feb. 6, 1913, in Richmond County, she was a daughter of the late Elisha Clay and Irene Gibson Terry. She was a member of Wade United Methodist Church and had been employed as head of housekeeping at Anson County Hospital, had worked many years at Wade Manufacturing and following retirement worked at Wal-Mart in Wadesboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Henry Russell; two daughters, Barbara Houle and Phyllis McLean; and two brothers, Fred Terry and Clay Terry, Jr.
Surviving are two brothers, James Terry of Wadesboro and Francis Terry of Norwood; a sister, Marge Terry Houle of Statesboro, Ga.; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Wade United Methodist Church, 10 Church St., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
