George Russell Thorsted

November 7, 1920 - November 11, 2015

Our hero passed away November 11, 2015, after celebrating his 95th birthday on November 7, 2015.
We are so proud of his many accomplishments. He has reunited with his beautiful bride, Cathilene, of nearly 70 years.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, walking many miles every day, but mostly family. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and friend.
He proudly served our country by joining the Coast Guard and serving during World War II and the Cold War where he earned several medals.

His memory will live on through his sons, William and Gary; his grandchildren, Michael (Elizabeth), Greg (Donna) and Amy (Robert); seven great grandchildren and his surviving brothers, Glen and Ray. He will be dearly missed, but we will all carry on with great memories.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Cathilene, and brothers, Ed and Blaine.

A Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Services will be on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Leavitt’s Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 am.
