Edward Jones was born on April 11, 1881 in Tennessee, and he was the son of Benjamin Bower "Ben" Jones (1834–1901) and Mary E (Stovall) Jones (ca 1849–1893). {Edward's World War I Draft Registration Card has his birth year as 1880.}
He was married about early 1900 to Louisa Holt (1882–1939), and she was the daughter of William H Holt (ca Mar 1840– ) and Sarah H "Sallie' (Pace) Holt (ca Jan 1841– ). {Louisa's parents were married on October 6, 1870 in Cheatham County.}
Listed by "trade" as a milk salesman, as well as by "industry" as a gas, oil and grease salesman, and living at 1707 Casa Street in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, Edward was 54 years old and married when he died at Vanderbilt Hospital on January 29, 1935 of pericarditis and uremia.
Survivors included his widow, sons E B Bryant, Phillip Jones, Lem Jones, Herman Jones and Eddie Ray Jones, daughters Lena Jones and Mrs L E Smith, sisters Susie (Jones) Brannon, Kate (Jones) Smith and Rose (Jones) Schulth and brothers Matt Jones, Henry Jones, Sam Jones and Herman Jones.
Burial was on January 31st in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
