Leola L. Niles-Gagnon, 73, died May 28, 2003, at her son's residence in Caribou, following a long illness. She was born in Van Buren, Sept. 19, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Mathilda (Parent) Derosier.

She was educated in Van Buren schools and was a 1947 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She was self-employed as a hairdresser in Caribou for many years and also worked for the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging for a number of years.

Lee is survived by her husband, Clayton P. Gagnon of Sinclair; one son, Roger E. Niles and his wife, Susan, of Caribou; one daughter, Christina Delano and her husband, Ralph, of North Conway, NH; one stepson, Curtis Gagnon and his wife, Theresa, of Florida; one brother, Roger Derosier and his wife, Sylvia, of Marstons Mills, Mass.; four sisters, Joan Daigle and her husband, Richard, of Van Buren, Claudette Parent and her husband, Wilfrid, of Bowie, Md., Jacqueline Derosier of Long Lake, Barbara Berube and her husband, Daniel, of Portland; five grandchildren, Eban, Joshua, and Andrew Delano, Kelly MacDougal and Katie Niles; two great-grand¬daughters, Mackenzie and Kylie MacDougal; two step-grand¬children, Christopher and Emily Gagnon; one step great-grandson, Dustin MacDougal.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Earl Niles in 1979; and by a son, John Paul Niles in 2000.

Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren, 7-9 pm Friday and from 10 am until time of service on Saturday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Saturday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the family lot of the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging Community Services, 33 Davis St., Presque Isle, ME 04769.
