Surrounded by family members, Pauline Cunningham peacefully passed from this world on October 24, 2015.
The only child of Paul and Cleo Knaup, she was raised in San Mateo and attended San Mateo High School and there met Don Cunningham, the love of her life. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage until his death in 2003. She was also predeceased by an infant son, Vincent.
Survived by her two sons, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A long-time resident of Redwood City (1951), she and Don were among the first parishioners of St. Pius parish and remained active through the years. Pauline had a particular affinity for gardening in general and orchids in particular. Her yard regularly contained a profusion of them. She was also fond of animals and in addition to the common domestic type also formed a bond with the many fortunate squirrels that frequented their backyard.
