Everett "Red" Boyd of Fredericktown died Sept. 20, 1986 at his home. A retired City of Fredericktown police officer, Mr. Boyd was 68. Chapel services were held Monday, Sept. 22 at Hansmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Sheppard officiating. Burial was in Christian Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Edwards, Tom Edwards, Steve Edwards, George DeSpain, Joe Swafford, and Tom Hood Sr. Survivors include a son, Tommy Hood Sr. of Sullivan; two daughters, Mrs. Allene Edwards of Fredericktown and Mrs. Judy Feary of Ladson, SC; two brothers, Sidney Boyd of Fredericktown and Jefferson Boyd of Robertsville; two sisters, Virginia Hamblin of Fredericktown and Wilma Boyd of St. Louis; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Boyd was born Jan. 20, 1918 in Ste. Genevieve County to the late Elliot and Cora (Johnson) Boyd. He married the former Judith Maloney Sept. 10. 1948 in Pocahontas, Ark. She preceded him in death March 9, 1985. Preceding Mr. Boyd in death were his parents; his wife; a brother Forest Boyd; and a sister Edith Haxel. Mr. Boyd was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
