Dorothy Adams, 85, of Independence, MO passed away November 12, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, November 16, 2015 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Services will be 10 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Chapel. Burial will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Dorothy was born on January 13, 1930 in Marcelene, MO to Orville and Pauline (Unternaehrer) Masters. She attended Northeast High School. Dorothy was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed her time volunteering at the church and helping her church family. She enjoyed bowling on the church league, gardening, and spending time with her family. Dorothy was always at her best when she was caring for others, either family or friends. Survivors include; daughters Brenda Burkhart and Diana Dickerson; sons Donald Adams and Kevin Adams; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Adams, daughter Donna Hoover, 3 grandchildren, her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
