Juanita Ermine Nixon was born April 13, 1920 to parents Eugene and Ermine Paugh in Carthage, Missouri. Preceding her in passing were her parents and brother, Phillip Eugene Paugh, husband Emil "Red" Hinkle, sister-in-law, Doris Paugh, half-brother, Ralph and wife Geneva Hestand, and also stepson David Nixon.

She married "Red" Hinkle in 1937 and soon moved to Osceola, Missouri where he was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department. In the 1950's, Red and Juanita began a fishing tackle business which evolved into Hinkle Fishing Tackle Company with wholesale and retail sales. In 1971, a new metal building was erected to house Hinkle's Sports Center and then in 1975 the business was sold and Red and Juanita enjoyed retirement until Red's passing in 1980.

In 1982 Juanita married George Nixon of Osceola, Missouri and they remained together until her passing on May 9, 2015. While being retired, George and Juanita enjoyed an active membership in the Methodist Church and community activities. Quilting was her great passion and she won many prizes with her work.

Juanita Paugh Hinkle Nixon is survived by her husband, George Nixon, of the home; three children, Richard Hinkle of Lowry City, Missouri, Randy Hinkle and wife Edna Jo of Lowry City, Missouri and Kathy Stoumbaugh of Waynesville, Missouri. She is also survived by one stepson, Michael Nixon and wife Barbara of Kansas City, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Wes Hinkle, Mike and wife Amy Hinkle, Shawn Hinkle, Dustin and wife Charla Hinkle, James and wife Stacy Hinkle, Ryan Stoumbaugh, Kent and wife Leslie Stoumbaugh, Jason Nixon, Jacob Nixon and 7 great grandchildren; her brother, Jud Paugh of Carthage, Missouri and her niece and nephew, Melody Nichols and Willis Paugh and families of Carthage, Missouri.
