BOWMAN, M. ALLAN,79, of Riverside, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007. Allan retired from South Central Bell with 35 years of service, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He provided many years of service to the Saint Francis Xavier Church, John Carroll Catholic High School and the Bread and Roses Ministry. Allan was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Hill Bowman; his father, Chancy Bowman; his wife, Martha Rives Bowman; and their daughter, Frances Lee Bowman.
Survivors include children, Chad Bowman, Craig Bowman, Ann Bowman, Jan Bowman Lieber, Nancy Bowman Harris, and Linda Bowman Wisdom-Andrews; grandchildren, Katie Kovac, Bethany Bowman, Austin Wisdom, Haley Wisdom, Inez Lieber, Lauren Harris, Parker Harris, and Carson Harris; and 25 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23 at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to John Carroll Catholic High School, 300 Lakeshore Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35209. Arrangements were made by Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham.
