MARTHA BRANSFORD
Mrs. Martha E. Bransford, 84, 8051 Dowitch
Lane, Indianapolis, former Anderson resident,
died suddenly Thursday night at St. Vincent
Hospital.
A native of Cornstalk, WV, she had lived 28
years in Anderson, during the long pastoral
ministry of her husband, Dr. Wesley Bransford,
at First United Methodist Church. He died
last April. He had served churches in Hawaii
and Florida since their retirement.
She was an active member of the First United
Methodist Church as a Sunday School Teacher,
and member of the church choir. She started
the drama group at the church, FIMEDRA.
She is survived by a son, Mallory Bransford,
Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Stewart,
Pleasant Plains, OH; six grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren.
Services were today at Baker Brothers
Funeral Home with Mrs. Donald LeSuer,
and Orrin Manifold officiating. Burial
was in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
