James Oder Osborne was born 14 Mar 1927 in Pauls Valley, OK as the son of Oder Ezekiel and Irey (Dunn) Osborne. He passed away in Levelland, Texas on 11 Nov 2015.

His early years were spent in Coal County, OK but after the death of his mother in 1936, the family then relocated to the central Oklahoma town of Marlow. James was active in FFA and also a member of the Outlaw football and track teams. He left school at the end of his junior year to join the U S Navy serving two years on KyAshland Islands as a 1st Class Seaman. At the conclusion of World War II he returned to finish high school at Frederick, OK where his family was then living. James was active in Methodist Youth Activities and a member of the state finalist Bomber Football Team of 1948. Following graduation from high school James was employed by Musslewhite Trucking Company and an oil developer company in Crossroads New Mexico before becoming a member of the Levelland Police Department where he served the next 20 years as a sergeant. He then became Justice of the Peace of Hockley County for four years when at that time he took a position for Verna Drilling as a Safety Engineer. He was then employed by Tex Land Drilling Co. for ten years at which time he retired.

James married Margie McElroy and they had son Kevin James Osborne and daughter Lana Elaine Osborne. James and Margie became active in the Eastern Star wher James belonged for 37 yearsand James was also a memeber of the Free Masonry for 49 years where he became a Master mason. Mason. He was an avid domino player and loved country music. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Levelland, Texas for 52 years.

James was a DNA descendant of Richard Osborn b. 1612 in London, England and d. 1684, Westchester, Bronx, NY, and Nicholas and Unity (Casey) McCarty b. 1660 in England. James was the great grandson of Major Jacob Wolf,b. 1786 in NC and proprietor of the Wolf House, of Norfork, AR - oldest public structure west side of the Mississippi River.

James passed away in his beloved town of Levelland, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Margie, his son, Kevin, his daughter, Lana. Also surviving are 6 grand children and one great grand son along with his siblings of Juanita Osborne Solley of Frisco, TX, Almeta Osborne Harness of Altus, OK, Dorothy Osborne-Vickrey Boynton of Dallas, TX , Noreen Osborne-Vickrey of CA and brothers Robert C Osborne of Colorado City, TX and Willie D Osborne of Ada, OK. He is preceded in death by sisters, Jenny Osborne Laster and Lois Osborne Paxton.

Also mourning his loss are a host of nieces and nephews and a vast array of friends.
