Vinton- Jack Arthur "Jackie" Brown, 59, died Saturday, November 7, 2015, in his residence.
Jackie was a lifelong resident of Vinton. He worked for several years in construction before becoming disabled. He enjoyed fishing and taking care of his dog, Lulu.

Survivors include his siblings, Claudia Ginty and husband, Sean of London, England, Maureen Brown, Paul "Pete" Brown and wife, Terri, and Glenn Brown and wife, Rachael, all of Sulphur, Jeanie Brown and husband, Randy Cox of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dexter G. Brown of Westlake; foster-sister, Ada Lou Broussard and husband, Johnny of Vinton; family friend, Billy Burke and wife, Tammy of Vinton; and his nieces and nephews, Casey Brown, Corey Brown, Paula Brown, Devon Brown, Miriam Cox, and Jacob Brown.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dexter and Velma Cormier Brown; and a nephew, Captain Aaron David Cox.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the City of Refuge Homeless Veterans Shelter, 5899 LA-3122, Vinton, LA 70668.
