John C. Stinson, life-long resident of Lebanon and Russell County, died in the local hospital here early Monday morning after a brief illness.

Mr. Stinson, veteran mail-carrier on Lebanon's RFD No. 2, was suddenly stricken last Thursday evening while attending a movie.

He apparently had been in good health up until he was seized with a stroke of paralysis. He was rushed to the Lebanon General hospital where he remained until his death without regaining consciousness.

Surviving besides his widow, the former Pauline Munsey, are five children: Mrs. Amy Noblitt and Miss Nancy Stinson ,both of Lebanon, Mrs. George J. Hart, Silver Springs, Md., John Paul Stinson and Joe Worley Stinson, both of Lebanon.

Also surviving are four grandchildren: Mona Lee Noblitt, Georgiann and Jacquline Hart, and Walter Michael Stinson.

Funeral services for the deceased were conducted from the Lebanon Baptist Church Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The body lay in state for one hour prior to the services. The Rev. Carl H. Wright, Chilhowie Methodist pastor and formerly of Lebanon, and the Rev. Fred Harcum, pastor of the Lebanon Baptist Church were in charge.

Burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
