FORT WAYNE, IND.—Lois “Birdie” Sawdy Alexander passed away on September 6, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Lois was from Lancaster. She attended Lancaster High School and graduated from Shenandoah Valley Academy.
Lois went to Beauty School and became a hairdresser. She also worked at Walmart in Orlando, Fla. She finally retired from the U.S. Postal Service, last working in Nuttsville.
Lois enjoyed bowling, gambling, Nascar and family gatherings. She was a great example of love, kindness, and patience.
Surviving are her children, Russell (Rusty) Alexander, Ayesha Schultz (Jeff Schultz), and Leslie (Rue) Alexander; grandchildren, Ashley Schultz and Amanda Schultz; sister, Zola Green; and brother, J.W. Sawdy Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda and J.W. Sawdy Sr.; and brother, Edwin “Big Ed” Sawdy.
A service will be held at noon, December 20, at Corrottoman Cemetery.
