Roy Neill Acuff {“CatDaddy” ~ “Pops” ~ “PeaPop” } age 72 of Nashville, passed away on November 5, 2015.
He was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Roy Claxton Acuff and Mildred Douglas Acuff.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Marie Haynes Acuff; sons, Roy Neill Acuff, Jr. and Alex Wolfgang Acuff “Coop”; and granddaughters, Mollie M. and Abigail Acuff.
Roy Neill had many loving friends. Among them are : “Peggy-Raye” Lamb, Bill “Keebler” Hertan, Julye Bakos, Virginia Gang of Squirrel, Carolyn, Jean Hardy Robinson and the late Ervin Hardy, Todd and Jo Borman, and his sweet Lizzie Cat.
The late Nellie Foster Byers was another “Mama” in Roy Neill’s life. “If it hadn’t been for her, no telling where I’d be,” Roy Neill was quoted as saying back in 1978.
Roy Neill enjoyed playing guitar, writing, painting, sculpting, collecting books, and reading The New York Times.
Roy Neill and his family have so much appreciation for the amazing folks at Alive Hospice who cared for him.
