Signe married Elmer E. Gustafson on March 29, 1912 at Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. They were the parents of seven children. Elmer died in 1964.

Signe's funeral was November 13 at East Balsam Baptist church.

She was survived by three sons: Edwin of Seattle; Arden of St. Paul; and Gailen of Bloomington; two daughters: Jeanette (Reginald) Harkins of Bellingham, Washington; and Eunice (Charles) Bosard of Bull Head City, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Doris and June, as well as six brothers and four sisters. Amery Free Press
