Eva was born December 26, 1909 in Richfield, Utah to Reuben and Nellie Taylor Anderton. She spent her early years in Idaho, graduating from Meridian High School and Albion Normal Teachers College. Eva moved to Salt Lake City with her family, where she graduated from the University of Utah, receiving a B.A. Degree in Education. On November 20, 1933 she was united in marriage to James B. Maury. He preceded her in death in June of 1975. While residing in Salt Lake City, she was a member of Central Christian Church. Eva was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. In 1993 she moved to Wisconsin and resided in Sheboygan Falls.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank C. and Nola Maury of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Larry M. and Judy Maury of Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren, Tracy, Cynthia, Karen, Matthew and Christopher; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Carolyn) Anderton of Hurricane, Utah; a sister, Daisy (Dave) Spafard of LaVerkin, Utah. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James B. Maury Jr., and five brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 17, 1999, 11 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the American Cancer Society.
