"Charlotte Bean, born March 24, 1804. Her education was obtained in the district schools of the time, excepting two or three terms at the Hardwick Academy. She commenced school teaching when 18 years of age, and taught at W. Glover, Glover, Irasburgh and Hatley, P.Q. She married Orin French Oct. 21st, 1832, and is the mother of 8 children, 6 of whom are still living. Two, Charlotte and Viola, died at a very early age. Phebe, now Mrs. Powers,Charlotte, Mrs. Fetch, Hattie and Lucy, still unmarried, and Nathan reside at St. Johnsbury. Samuel lives in the old homestead, and is a flourishing boot and shoe dealer and manufacturer, successor to his father, who died March 21st, 1876. Aunt Charlotte is still living, at the advanced age of 83, her birthday coming in one week from this anniversary. Her home is with her daughters at St. Johnsbury.
