Funeral services for Evelyn Jean Jones, 80, of Auburn is Thursday, August 24, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Burial is in Rosemere Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Grantham is officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones, who died Monday, August 21, 2006, was born June 16, 1926, in Chambers County, AL. Mrs. Jones had lived most of her life in Opelika and was a member of Pepperell Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Leslie Herbert Ware and Bruce Jones, Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Ledford Weldon and Billie Ledford Lucas.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Ware Bell of Bethlehem, GA, Barbara Ware Dickey (Harold) of Montgomery and Edna Jones Stricker (Michael) of Sulphur, LA; son, Cary M. Ware (Zona)of Lanett; sisters, Mildred Carter of Macon, GA, Frances Tartaglio of Bridgeport, CT; brothers, William C. Ledford of San Diego, CA, Bobby J. Ledford (Cathy) of Valley; brother-in-law, Clyde Weldon of Opelika; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Bethany House, Pepperell Baptist Church or favorite charity.
