Glenn Gentry, 92, of Jewett died at 8:11 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 22, 1992) at Cumberland Nursing Center.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial will be in Jewett Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until service time.

He was born April 1, 1900, in Woodbury, the son of Newton Hiram and Barbara Etta Claybaugh Gentry. He married Verna Mabel Kingery in 1921; she survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Virgil and Dale Gentry of Greenup, Carl Gentry of Jeffersonville, Ind., Bobby Gentry of New Albany, Ind., and Paul Gentry of Chicago; five daughters, Dorothy Hannah and Linda Hornbeck, both of Greenup, Allene Gutmann of Springfield, Mildred "Millie" Lindsay of Jewett and Shirley Easton of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; 44 grandchildren; 91 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Gentry was a farmer."
