She was born August 20, 1923, in Payson, Utah, to Melvin and Mable Starr Ballard. Margaret graduated from Payson High School with the class of 1941. She married Ivan Jay Taylor on August 28, 1942; and, their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple.
For several years, Margaret worked in the Payson City Office; and, later was employed at Money's Home Center until her retirement. She served as a Pink Lady at the Payson Hospital for many years and enjoyed the opportunity to help others in the community. She loved to golf, crochet, and was an excellent cook. No one ever left her house hungry.
Margaret's greatest joy was her family. She loved having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around her. Jay was the love of her life. The two of them were always together; and, you rarely saw one, without the other. We are all comforted by the fact that they are together again.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters, her husband, and her son, Tom. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Jones (Don) of Spanish Fork, and Karen Madson (Craig) of Farmington; one brother, Frank Ballard of Salt Lake City, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 9, at 11 a.m., in the Payson 1st Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East, Payson, Utah. Viewings will be held at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, on Tuesday, August 8, from 6-8 p.m.; and, at the church on Wednesday 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
