She grew up as a preacher’s daughter and at the age of 12 the family moved to Avant, Oklahoma where she attended school. There she met the love of her life, Gene Hollister. They were married in Pawhuska, Oklahoma January 3, 1949. Evelyn was a homemaker that loved caring for her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and other family held a special place in her heart. Evelyn enjoyed reading and beautiful flowers.
Mrs. Hollister is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Annie Selby, and nine siblings.
Survivors include her husband Gene, of the home; a son Kyle Hollister and his wife Janet; a daughter Kristen Topping, and her husband David; grandchildren, Kyla Jo Hogan and husband Byron, Jayce Hollister and his wife Jennifer, Adam Topping and his wife Jessica, Jacob Topping; four great grandchildren; a brother Pete Selby, a sister Dorthea McDaniel; many other relatives and a host of friends.
