Pfc. U.S. Army, {RA14835950}, Vietnam War-Pfc. Carlton was killed in a ground action by small arms fire in the Ia Drang on 11-17-1965 while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with Co. A of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. Pfc. Carlton started his tour of Vietnam on 8-16-1965.

Pfc. Carlton is the son of Mr. James H. Carlton & Mrs. Jessie E. Carlton of 205 Garland Street, Greenfield, Tennessee.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
